Countryside Days

 
 
15 & 16 June 2010

Information about Countryside Days will be sent out to Schools in January 2010.  A prompt reply is advised as this event fills very quickly.

For each child coming to this event there will be three timetabled half-hour workshops, one free period when schools may explore all the activities and two/three displays.

The workshops and displays include:

  • Farm Animals
  • Farm Machinery
  • The Sheep Show 
  • Country Crafts e.g. Rug making, Felting, Knitting
  • Dry Stone Walling
  • Cooking e.g. Breadmaking, Gingerbread making
  • Planting and Growing
  • Sheepdogs, Gun dogs, Falconry
  • And much more

The day is free to all primary schools but children, teachers and helpers should provide their own lunch and drinks.

Competitions at Countryside Days

Schools coming to Countryside Days are invited to enter the Model Competition, the subject of which is British Wild Flowers.  Details of the competition will be sent out at a later date.

Preparation for Countryside Days

Teachers bringing groups to Countryside Days are invited to join us on Tuesday, 23rd March 2010 for a sandwich lunch, a presentation on Countryside Days and a tour of the Showground.
