Yorkshire Event Centre Scoops National Award
The Yorkshire Event Centre in Harrogate has scooped a national business award after being named Best Venue in the UK.
Less than 12 months since opening a new £11 million hall, the YEC has won ‘Best Venue Under 8,000sqm’ in the Exhibition News Awards in London last night.
The Yorkshire Event Centre (YEC), based on the Great Yorkshire Showground in Harrogate, was up against a shortlist of national venues: Business Design Centre, Ricoh Arena, Sandown Park Racecourse, The Crystal and Titanic Exhibition Centre.
Heather Parry, Managing Director of YEC Ltd, said: “This is a fantastic win for Yorkshire, reinforcing how important this region is to the UK events industry.
“Our significant investment into creating a versatile and contemporary venue, reflects our ambitions to be a leading exhibition, conference and banqueting venue; this award cements that.
“It’s also a real testament to the hard work and vision of our whole team. Not only are we passionate about what we do, we’re also driven by the fact all profits generated goes to registered charity Yorkshire Agricultural Society (YAS).”
The award was presented at the 11th edition of the Exhibition News Awards which took place in ExCeL, London.
The Yorkshire Event Centre is based on the Great Yorkshire Showground. The showground has 250 acres of outdoor space, with stunning views across the iconic Crimple Valley and ample free parking.
The newly refurbished YEC opened last June, with a brand new Hall 1 which is completely pillar free, which allows for maximum flexibility
Investment has been made into creating versatile spaces, such as an impressive entrance hall, a dedicated seminar room, 4G coverage, a suite of organisers’ offices as well as two cafes offering the very best of Yorkshire food and drink.
