Yorkshire Rural Support Network

The Yorkshire Rural Support Network (YRSN) is a well-established partnership of statutory and voluntary agencies in the county who have been working together since 1994.

Its aim is to alleviate stress in Yorkshire's farming community by promoting sources of help, whether they are practical, financial, medical or emotional. YRSN tries to spread the message that it's not a sign of weakness to admit that you're not coping.

YRSN is chaired by the Yorkshire Agricultural Society and meetings take place six times a year at the offices of the Yorkshire Rural Community Council in Skelton near York. Other key members of YRSN are Rural Development Service of DEFRA, Farm Crisis Network, Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution, Rural Stress Information Network, Citizens Advice Bureaux, East Yorkshire Rural Stress Initiative, Diocese of Ripon and Leeds and the Yorkshire Rural Community Council.

Support for the Network has been given by Yorkshire Forward through the Single Regeneration Budget Programme.

Work in West Yorkshire is led by Sarah Hough who is based at the Yorkshire Agricultural Society in Harrogate - 01423 541000.
