Our response to coronavirus (COVID-19)
At the Yorkshire Agricultural Society, we are continuing to follow the Governmentβs advice in this rapidly changing situation.
Fodder
Fodder, our farm shop and cafΓ© at the Great Yorkshire Showground, remains open for food shopping with social distancing measures in place but the cafΓ© is closed. Fodderβs online shop is also open and a delivery service is available. For more details visit the Fodder website.
Farm To Fork
We have launched a new social media-led campaign to champion the work of farmers and farm retailers in Yorkshire during the pandemic.
The Farm To Fork campaign aims to celebrate the continuous work underway across the county to produce and make available to consumers high-quality, locally produced food at a time when a reliable supply of food is a key concern.
Read full details, including how to take part in the campaign, here.
Labour Shortages
The COVID-19 pandemic has led to a shortage of seasonal labour on UK farms to help pick and pack fruit and vegetables. British workers are being encouraged to apply for these paid positions on local farms across the UK.
Any British workers who wish to register their interest in these seasonal employment opportunities can do so via HOPS Labour Solutions, while the CLA has listed other relevant labour recruitment agencies on this dedicated webpage.
