The Great Yorkshire Show provides the perfect opportunity to extend your students’ learning outside of the classroom. Not only will they be immersed in Yorkshire’s biggest celebration of food, farming and rural life, but they can also experience ‘hands-on’ learning.
Designed especially for teenagers Gen Z is our BRAND NEW, FREE addition to the Great Yorkshire Show. Inspiring our future generations with the wonderful careers within food, farming and rural industries.
Come and meet our celebrity guest, The Red Shepherdess, Hannah Jackson – find out what it takes to be a shepherdess from the 26-year-old who completed TV’s toughest test SAS Who Dares Wins.
Find out what it feels like to fly the Yorkshire Air Ambulance on a virtual reality headset. Have a go at using real agricultural technology to spot animal ailments. Drill down with an agronomist taking soil samples from the ground. Try your hand at delivering a calf on our realistic model cow. Rustle up a tasty feta and strawberry salad while finding out more about nutrition and seasonal food. Even bag your school some great free giveaways!
All activities in Gen Z are funded by The Yorkshire Agricultural Society. All activities are subject to change without notice.
There will be endless opportunities for students to engage with potential employers and industry specialists where curriculum learning can be linked to careers (Gatsby Benchmark 4).
