Goodall Agri-Development Pathway
The Yorkshire Agricultural Society‘s Goodall Agri-Development Pathway is a fully-funded training programme to support the development of farming’s next generation.
Launched in 2023, the Pathway helps young people to develop their skills and experience, improve their performance and prepare them for enhanced responsibilities as their career in agriculture evolves.

Content and delivery
The Goodall Agri-Development Pathway is an annual programme with eight modules to complete. Modules will be delivered face to face and will feature farm visits, conferences, expert speakers and an international study trip. Some modules require overnight stays. Each module lasts between one and four days. Scroll down for a list of the module topics.
Outcome
Learners (our Pathfinders) will emerge from this Pathway with the skills and experience to confidently progress their career ambitions. Following completion of the programme, a celebratory awards presentation will take place at the Great Yorkshire Show. For our current Pathfinders, this will be at GYS in 2027.
Who can apply to take part?
This exciting opportunity is open to those aged between 23 and 40 who work in farming and allied industries in the North of England.

Selection process
There are a limited number of places available on the Pathway each year. Applicants are interviewed by a selection panel before being informed if their application is successful. Whilst places are fully-funded, a £250 deposit refundable upon completion of the Pathway is required to secure a place if your application is approved.
Why is it called the Goodall Agri-Development Pathway?
The Yorkshire Agricultural Society is grateful to the late-Mary Goodall, who kindly bequeathed a legacy to the Society to further its charitable aims to support young people in the agricultural industry.
