The Yorkshire Federation of Show Societies (YFSS) came into being in 1948 at a meeting held in York on 10th November attended by representatives of the 24 societies. This has now grown to 60+ shows within Yorkshire.

The Federation assists members by endeavouring to arrange show dates to avoid clashing, by maintaining contact, exchanging ideas and information and dealing with any problems and matters of mutual interest in the running of the shows.

Both the YAS and YFSS are members of the ASAO. The ASAO, amongst other things, sets out to encourage and share best practice between agricultural societies and related organisations.
