Livestock & Entries Officer
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Yorkshire Agricultural Society (YAS) for a Livestock & Entries Officer. This role will provide administrative support to the Livestock & Entries Department.
The Livestock & Entries Officer will have an excellent knowledge of IT in an office environment, some agricultural knowledge would be helpful but NOT mandatory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintaining the Stewards databases; using Filemaker – training will be given on this system
- Administration for the Stewards; this may involve liaising with the chairman of relevant sections.
- Assisting with all administrative related duties for the Livestock & Entries Department; this will involve photocopying, preparing for schedule, making booklets, labelling, stuffing envelopes, franking etc., answering telephone calls from exhibitors and the general public, data entry, proof reading, sending out tickets, etc.
- Responsibility of sending the packs for the Stewards prior to the Shows.
- Organising Committee Meetings; these are held in the Autumn and will involve minute taking.

Deputy Head Butcher
Fodder are recruiting for a Deputy Head Butcher at our Farm Shop and Cafe located on the Great Yorkshire Showground in Harrogate. The Yorkshire Event Centre is a major venue in the region, consisting of 6,500m2 of contemporary event space for exhibitions, conferences, dinners and events. We also have 250 acres of external space ideal to film location shoots, concerts and team building events.
You will support clients in every aspect of running events from:
- Planning in the build-up to events.
- Preparing the venue.
- Ensuring the event runs smoothly and safely.
- Assisting in all aspects of event breakdown.
Roughly 30% of the role is desk based with 70% working around the venue – this is a physically demanding role.
