Countryside Days
Watch Countryside Days in action!
Tuesday 11th & Wednesday 12th June 2024
Countryside Days offers Key Stage 2 children the opportunity to experience and explore all aspects of food, farming, the countryside and healthy living.
Your school visit will involve a variety of workshops and arena displays including rural crafts, farm animals, reptiles, the legendary Sheep Show, pond dipping and many more.
The event starts at 9.30am and ends at 2.30pm and includes 6 interactive sessions which will be timetabled for your group prior to the day. As this event is a major focus of the charitable activities undertaken by the Yorkshire Agricultural Society, there is no charge for schools attending.
How to Book
School bookings to attend Countryside Days 2024 are now open. Click on the button below to make your booking.
Teacher Familiarisation Afternoon
Each year we run a Teacher Familiarisation Afternoon at the Yorkshire Event Centre, Great Yorkshire Showground, HG2 8NZ. An invitation for this will be emailed to all schools that sign up for Countryside Days.
This session is an opportunity for you to find out more about the format of the day, Health and Safety considerations and to tour the site. You will meet the organisers and have opportunities to ask any questions you may have.
Terms & Conditions
Cancellations of 10 pupils or more received after 31st March will be charged £100+VAT.
Please note this event is for KS2 children only and the minimum group size is 10. There is no maximum to the number of children you can bring, providing there is still space available. We will divide your group into smaller groups as necessary, normally 15-20 in each, therefore please ensure you arrange enough staff to accompany each group.
Date: Thursday 11th May 2023
Time: 1-3pm
Venue: Yorkshire Event Centre, Great Yorkshire Showground, HG2 8NZ
We strongly recommend that you join us at our Teacher Familiarisation Afternoon. As Countryside Days is a timetabled event, it is hugely beneficial to the smooth running of the event if school staff are well-prepared and understand the layout.
