Media skills training – apply now

Future Farmers of Yorkshire are being invited to get interview-ready with Anna Jones this summer.

Agricultural journalist, writer and broadcaster, Anna, who is founder of Just Farmers, is returning to run a second Media Skills Workshop for Future Farmers on Thursday 9th June 2022 at New Hall Farm, Ardsley, S71 5EZ.

It is a fantastic opportunity to gain the skills and confidence to talk to TV, radio and press about farming issues.

Media skills

Understand the art of storytelling

Anna will help you to understand how the modern media works.

She’ll show you why good, honest storytelling is the key to connecting with the media and consumers.

Anna will help you find your story and tell it with pride.

During the day you’ll get hands-on with professional cameras and microphones and receive 1:1 feedback on your interview style.

Brush up your skills

You’ll learn how to explain complicated things in a way that make sense and be ready for the tough questions and equally happy to answer them.

You’re guaranteed to be challenged!

You’ll break out of the farming ‘bubble’ and look at well-trodden issues with fresh eyes and fresh perspectives.

The workshops are designed to spark discussion, boost confidence and leave you feeling enthused about telling your own story.

It’s about stepping out of your comfort zone in a friendly and supportive environment.

You won’t look at the media in the same way again!

Cost and how to apply for a place

This training is expensive, but costs will be covered by Future Farmers in return for your willingness to help with media requests in future.

We hope you feel inspired to join us!
