Connecting rural communities and businesses to rural broadband is one of our network’s key priorities which is why at the Great Yorkshire Show 2018 we gave a big push to help our rural and farming communities connected.
Hosted by the CLA with sponsorship by the network, the drop-in event, held on the Wednesday of the show, attracted more than fifty visitors looking for help in improving their broadband service, download, streaming and internet speed.
Funders were on hand to help, including; Superfast West Yorkshire, Superfast North Yorkshire, Superfast West Yorkshire and BDUK with various regional providers there to offer their advice.
Mobile and broadband coverage are improving in the UK, but too many rural areas still get a poor signal – according to Ofcom’s major study of the UK’s communications networks. You can read Ofcom’s report here.
