This is your invitation to join us for the Women In Farming Network’s Summer Social at the Great Yorkshire Show, kindly sponsored by Geo, from 3-5pm on Thursday 16 July in the Agri-Innovation Village (located off Fifth Avenue, near Brown Gate).
With the theme ‘Beyond Yorkshire: An International Perspective’, all rural women are welcome for an inspiring fireside chat highlighting the global journeys of UK women in agriculture.
Although rooted in the landscapes of Yorkshire and beyond, each of our speakers brings a unique international connection as we celebrate the International Year of the Woman Farmer.
The conversation will be accompanied by strawberries and cream and a glass of fizz.

Meet the speakers
Kate Bush – Chair
Kate is Trading Director for Specialist Lines at Geo, with extensive experience in agriculture and rural business.
With a strong connection to farming through both her career and family life, she brings a practical and empathetic understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing the sector today.
Jenny Hutchinson
Jenny grew up on a large family farm in Zimbabwe before building her career in the UK.
Alongside her husband, she now runs the award winning Hutchinson Hobbs farm shop in North Yorkshire, bringing global farming heritage into a thriving local food business.
Emma Lawson
Emma Lawson farms at home in County Durham while also working across the local agricultural sector.
Having spent 18 months on a large scale cattle and arable operation in Canada, she brings a fresh, hands on perspective on farming across very different systems and environments.
The Women In Farming Network was created in 2013 as an initiative of the Yorkshire Rural Support Network at the Yorkshire Agricultural Society, following requests from women living and working on farms and related industries.
The Network holds a rolling programme of events to bring the community together and hosts a private Yorkshire Women In Farming Facebook group to keep conversations and support going all year round.
