‘Cart horses to Combines’ Farming Community Lunch at Thirsk Mart

Members of the farming community are welcome to join us for a lunch time event at Thirsk Farmers Auction Mart on Monday 14 March 2022.

The Yorkshire Rural Support Network’s next Farming Community Lunch, entitled ‘Cart horses to Combines; Sharing Memories of Farming in North Yorkshire’, will feature an interactive talk with freelance curator and museum consultant, Virginia Arrowsmith.

Starting at 12 noon, guests can enjoy a two-course lunch served with tea and coffee for £7.50 at the mart’s Gavel Café.

Kate Dale, Co-ordinator of the Yorkshire Rural Support Network said:

There’s nothing quite like coming together for a hot meal and conversation, whether it’s current news or a little look back and a few reminiscences.

Café owner and farming family member, Jackie Marwood always makes us so welcome and provides wonderful home cooked Yorkshire fayre.

Having Virginia Arrowsmith with us will definitely stimulate memories and conversations about farming times gone by.

All ages are welcome to join us.
