A First Aid training course specifically tailored for farmers is being offered in Yorkshire at a heavily discounted rate, thanks to the Yorkshire Agricultural Society.
Ten places are available on the training course, which will be delivered by the F3A charity at New Hall Farm, Barnsley, S71 5EZ on Friday 11th October 2024.
The course starts at 10am and finishes at 2pm and includes a break for lunch.
What you will learn
This training course will support you with how to deal with life threatening incidents and accidents on-farm, and covers:
- The aims of first aid, scene safety and the role of the First Aider
- Assessing a casualty using the Primary Survey
- Unresponsive and breathing casualty – recovery position
- Unresponsive and not-breathing casualty CPR using current Resuscitation Council UK Guidelines
- AED (Automated External Defibrillator) – rationale for using the AED, safe use, reporting, recording and handover to the emergency services
- Treatment of crush injury, amputation, impalement, and severe bleeding
Cost
Places are the course are offered to farmers at just £20 + VAT.
This is because 80% of the training course fees are funded by the Yorkshire Agricultural Society thanks to grants secured from DEFRA’s Farmer Welfare Fund.
Ordinally, a place on this course costs £99 + VAT.
