Perennial charity spotlight – Yorkshire Rural Support Network

The Yorkshire Rural Support Network is proud to launch a charity spotlight series, showcasing its members who provide vital support to our rural and agricultural communities.

The Network is funded and supported by the Yorkshire Agricultural Society and is a partnership of farming organisations, charities and voluntary agencies that together promote and provide sources of help – whether practical, financial, medical or emotional.

In this post, we highlight Perennial which helps more people and professions than you might think.

Matt Knight, Perennial’s Head of Preventative Services, tells us more.

Personally, I have no specific farming connections, but for the last 10-plus years I’ve been supporting people with their financial, physical and mental wellbeing, and while some people have specific needs or intricacies, everyone ultimately wants to feel safe, secure, in-control and with have enough knowledge and support to make positive decisions for themselves and their families.

Perennial has, for over 180 years, supported people that work with plants, flowers, grass and trees, all hallmarks of the British rural environment.

Perennial offers support in a variety of ways, including a dedicated helpline specifically for people in the horticultural community along with a region-specific casework and money and debt teams.

Perennial also offer expert knowledge in regional signposting, getting people the right support in the right places plus exclusive free access to both a Health & Wellbeing app and a Financial Wellbeing platform tailored to the user.
