Each year, Future Farmers of Yorkshire, supported by the Yorkshire Agricultural Society, sponsors a select number of Future Farmers to attend the Oxford Farming Conference and its rival the Oxford Real Farming Conference.
The 2025 Oxford Farming Conference will be held from 8th-10th January and the theme Facing Change, Finding Opportunity promises a forward-looking agenda as the industry navigates a period of great change.
Rival event, the Oxford Real Farming Conference (ORFC) takes place on the 9th-10th January. It connects people from across the globe who want to transform our food and farming industry.
In 2025, we are planning to send two Future Farmers to each conference.
If you fancy attending one of the industry’s two premier events next January, email us at futurefarmers@yas.co.uk telling us why it should be you.
Alternatively, direct message us on via social media channels – Facebook, Instagram and X.
The closing date to apply for a bursary place is 23rd September 2024.
All we ask in return is that you write and talk about your experience and share updates from the conference on social media.
Glowing reports from our previous Oxford conference attendees
Lauren Dennison, a farm consultant for GSC Grays, was awarded a Future Farmers bursary to attend the 2024 Oxford Farming Conference.

Sharing her experience, Lauren reported:
Having the opportunity to attend the Oxford Farming Conference was a real privilege and especially having the opportunity through the Scholarship programme was amazing to be a part of.
Being part of the programme gave me the opportunity of networking with likeminded people, allowed me to gain key skills through the development training and of course allowed me to meet new friends for life.
Therefore, I would highly recommend this opportunity to anyone and would encourage others to take part in the future.
Representing Future Farmers at the ORFC 2023 was Zander Metcalfe, who farms with his family near Northallerton.

Zander told us:
I felt inspired, informed, enthusiastic and cheerful having spent my time in the city mingling with people with all types of connections to agriculture.
This expanded my vision of what agriculture and food production means.
I realise it goes well beyond what I have been limiting myself to in my time farming the land.
