Members of Future Farmers of Yorkshire can apply now for sponsored places at next year’s NFU Conference at the ICC in Birmingham. These places have been kindly provided by the NFU.
Places are at a premium for what promises to be another intriguing annual conference held by the National Farmers’ Union on the 25th and 26th February 2020.
An array of high-profile speakers from across the spectrum of politics, economics, retail and science will be discussing the state of agriculture at the event.
Fully funded places are available to cover the costs of tickets, meals and accommodation.
Interested Future Farmers are asked to send a letter providing information on their background, skills and experience, along with reasons why they should be selected.
Applications should be emailed to futurefarmers@yas.co.uk by 6 January 2020.
Future Farmers who have previously attended the conference – last year’s contingent are pictured at the top of the page – said the experience was worthwhile.
Alice Liddle said: “I would recommend going to the NFU Conference to anyone. I would advise them to throw themselves into it, speak to new people and share experiences and go armed with questions and to ask in the Q&A time.”
Fellow Future Farmer Natalie Moore testified: “I love attending things like the NFU Conference because of the people you meet there; there are some very intelligent, forward-thinking people there and I love chatting to them about what they do and what their ambitions are for the future.
“I heard somebody recently say that you need to surround yourself by people you aspire to be like and I always come away from these events with a new-found enthusiasm; it always puts the fire back in my belly.
“To anyone else who gets the chance to attend, it is a great place to meet people, make sure you take the opportunity to chat to as many people as possible.
“You will learn a lot and despite some of the debates being fairly lengthy there is plenty of time to relax and have fun!”
