Watch – Yorkshire farmers’ Q&A with Defra’s Janet Hughes

A group of farmers brought together by the Yorkshire Agricultural Society have met virtually with Defra’s Janet Hughes to discuss the direction of new agricultural policies.

Members of the Future Farmers of Yorkshire and Women In Farming Network took part in the online video call to gain fresh insights as they pitched their burning questions about a range of topics.

During the call, the group asked questions about the Sustainable Farming Incentive, Farming Investment Fund, farm inspections, opportunities for new entrants and much more.

The session is available to watch below.

Janet Hughes is the Director for Defra’s Future Farming and Countryside Programme which sets out to transform the ways in which the Government regulates and supports agriculture and the countryside environment in a post-Brexit world.

Details about the Programme are being posted periodically on this webpage and visitors can sign up to receive the latest updates.
