Our training courses for teachers this Spring have been extremely well received with lots of great ideas shared to take back to the classroom. We have seen the return of the ever popular ‘Muddy Maths’ and ‘Developing your Outdoor Space for Learning’ in addition to a new course all about habitats. The aptly named ‘Creature Comforts’ saw attendees pond dipping, making bird feeders and even dissecting an owl pellet!
Following our ‘Inspiring Literacy Outdoors’ course in February a teacher commented “This course has enthused me. I will be sharing this with my colleagues and putting a lot of energy and time in providing many more outdoor activities; Lots of great ideas and resources.”
We still have a few more to go this term including another new course called ‘Mindfulness in Nature’. This course aims to show teachers how to use nature to help children be happy, calm and confident. With the rise of mental health problems in children this course comes at a vital time.
Look out for the schedule of courses taking place in the summer term which will be published after the Easter holidays. Come along and have a great day in the outdoors, be inspired and go back to school armed with lots of hands-on activities to share with your class and your colleagues.
