New bursary place offer
ORFC in the Field at Hill Top Farm, Malham
Two bursary places are up for grabs to attend the Oxford Real Farming Conference’s first Yorkshire livestock-focused event on Wednesday 23 – Thursday 24 July 2025.
Future Farmers will fully-fund your admission to this two-day event (saving you £95 on the cost of a two-day subsidised farmer ticket) at Hill Top Farm in the Yorkshire Dales, subject to a successful application.
With just two bursary spots available, we expect this offer to be popular!
About the event
Join Oxford Real Farming Conference for two days of practical learning and knowledge-sharing, as leading experts in nature-friendly livestock farming are brought together for in-depth sessions on mob grazing, cow-calf contact dairying, permaculture design, hay meadow restoration, and much more.
Spaces are limited and organisers promise…
(An) extraordinary chance to learn about an outstanding agroecological livestock system, meet like-minded individuals, and gather all the skills and vision you need to create mutually beneficial systems for both livestock and thriving biodiversity.
What to expect
- Farm tour with Neil Heseltine, exploring how the family’s Belted Galloway herd supports biodiversity through conservation grazing
- Ethical dairying with Nuffield Scholar Anna Bowen, focusing on cow-calf contact systems and practical design
- Whole-farm permaculture design with Hannah Thorogood, with a focus on pasture and grazing systems (bring along your farm maps along for creative problem solving and practical design ideas)
- Hay meadow restoration, with insights from a long-term collaboration with Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust
