Direct sales workshop for farmers – November 8th

A workshop for farmers wanting to take the first steps into direct selling, at any scale, will be held by the Future Farmers of Yorkshire on Wednesday 8th November 2023.

The Direct Sales Workshop for Farmers will be held between 10am and 4pm at Anna’s Happy Kitchen, Thorpe Rd, Howden, Goole, DN14 7AZ.

It comes at a time when many farmers are seeking ways to add value to their products and increase profitability of their livestock enterprises.

Selling direct also helps farmers to develop close links with consumers, whilst providing traceable, quality local food.

What the workshop includes

You will hear from two experts who have built their own successful businesses.

Anna Longthorp

Anna decided that she wanted to be a price maker, having more control over her supply chain.

During the workshop, Anna will share her experience from her first ideas to where she is now.

Anna’s business includes selling wholesale and retail including via Fodder farm shop, mail order and a hog roast outside catering business.

Dan Binns

Dan, of D R Binns Butchery, offers a butchery service where he can butcher and pack meat to bespoke customer requirements, whether that be for direct sale to the public, meat box schemes or simply for the freezer.

Between them, Anna and Dan will cover slaughter and butchering of livestock, along with processing and packaging and labelling.

They will also cover the rules and regulations that producers selling to the public must follow.
