‘What does the future of farming look like with reduced chemistry?’
All in farming are welcome at the Future Farmers of Yorkshire’s next event, a new Spring Technical Meeting, generously hosted by Amazone Ltd at its Orchard Farm HQ in Doncaster.
As part of the evening, we will host a panel discussion on ‘What does the future of farming look like with reduced chemistry?’
With agriculture facing increasing pressure to balance productivity, sustainability and regulation, the discussion will explore how changes to the use of chemistry may fit into the future of farming.
The event will be chaired by Future Farmer Sam Dilcock and our panelists are profiled further down this page.
What to expect
This will be an opportunity to hear a range of perspectives on this topical issue and there will be chances to contribute the conversation during a Q&A.
Places to attend are FREE but must be booked in advance to inform catering. A light supper will be provided, offering plenty of time to catch up with fellow members before the discussion begins.
Optional Amazone tour: Limited places
Ahead of the main session, there will be the opportunity for up to 60 members to take part in a tour of the Amazone Ltd facility, offering a chance to see first-hand the UK base of the company.
As places on the tour are limited, early booking is recommended.

Meet the panel
Rebecca Wilson
Future Farmer Rebecca is a fifth-generation farmer, podcaster and advocate for British agriculture, who is passionate about ensuring farming and nature continue to thrive side by side.
Having gained an undergraduate degree in Human, Social and Political Sciences from the University of Cambridge and an MSc degree in Rural Land Management from the Royal Agricultural University, she pursued roles as a rural surveyor specialising in utilities and infrastructure and a project manager in the poultry sector.
She returned to work full time on the family farm in the Vale of York five years ago, where the family run a breeding flock of 200 predominantly Suffolk X ewes which integrate with the arable enterprise.
Named in The Times Young Power List in 2025, shares her farming experiences through the Wilson & Ashley podcast of which she is co-host, writing, social media and public speaking.
She is an ambassador for the Game and Wildlife Conservation Trust, sits on the Country Land & Business Next Generation Policy Committee and on the National Sheep Association Northern Region and English Committees.
David Stead
David is a North Yorkshire farmer’s son, who joined Hutchinsons Crop Productions Specialist as a trainee agronomist in 2010 after Graduating from Harper Adams University.
David oversees a wide range of crops, specialising in potatoes and holds the complete Basis Diploma.
As an agronomist, he has undertaken a mentoring role for colleagues as part of his Area Manager and, recently, Regional Director roles within Hutchinsons.
David is responsible for Hutchinsons’ Agronomy team in the North of England, covering Yorkshire, Durham, Northumberland and Cumbria.
Richard Amphlet
Richard was born and bred in the Cotswolds with an arable and livestock background. He has a passion for practical, innovative farming solutions that support both productivity and environmental sustainability.
After starting life on the family farm, he went on to college and then to study mechanisation at Harper Adams University. Richard began his career as a machinery demonstrator before moving into agricultural sales 20 years ago.
Combining hands‑on field experience with strong technical and engineering insight, Richard has a particular focus on soil health and sustainable cultivation.
BASIS trained in soil and water, he currently shares the role of 3C Specialist for AMAZONE Ltd alongside Oliver Watson, focusing on non‑inversion agriculture.
