Farmers Weekly Question Time – apply for a place

Future Farmers of Yorkshire has teamed up with Farmers Weekly to host one of its QuestionTime events at the Great Yorkshire Showground on Thursday 11th January 2024.

To be in the audience for what will be a highly-topical debate at Pavilions of Harrogate, you are required to apply for a place.

What to expect

The Farmers Weekly QuestionTime will give members of the audience opportunities to quiz the speakers.

It is a great chance to hear what policy makers and influential industry figures have to say about key agricultural topics and current affairs relevant to Yorkshire.

Registration is from 5.30pm before the Live QuestionTime starts at 6pm.

Afterwards, from 7.15pm, there will be a drinks reception, giving attendees the chance to network with likeminded peers.

The event is sponsored by TIAH and Lightsource bp.

Line up

The panel will be hosted by Johann Tasker, voice of the Farmers Weekly podcast and projects editor.

The speakers are:

Robyn Vinter, north of England correspondent at The Guardian and former Farmers Weekly reporter

Andrew Swift, executive director on the Fera Science Ltd Joint Venture Board

Sir Robert Goodwill, MP for Scarborough and Whitby, farmer on the 250-acre family farm at Terrington, near Malton and chair of the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Select Committee

Sophie Throup, head of agriculture and sustainable sourcing policy and programmes for Morrisons

Robbie Moore, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs and MP for Keighley and Ilkley
