Pathways to Farm Entry
Great Yorkshire Showground
Thursday 23 October and Thursday 6 November 2025
8.30am-4.30pm
Future Farmers of Yorkshire has teamed up with industry professionals to deliver skills training over two days that will help you to confidently apply for farm tenancy opportunities, as well as shed light on other ways into farming such as shared farming and contracting.
The course is kindly sponsored by leading UK property consultancy Carter Jonas and it includes preparing a tender, finance and cashflow planning, farm viewing, along with details around other farming structures to consider as a pathway to farm entry.
We’re thrilled to be sponsoring the Pathways to Farm Entry at this year’s Future Farmers of Yorkshire skills workshop.
It’s a great opportunity to help shape the next generation of leaders in the agricultural community and engage with farmers throughout Yorkshire.

Feeback from our last farm tenancy training
Our Pathways to Farm Entry programme is an expanded update on the previous farm tenancy training we offered.
We had really positive feedback from farmers who took the training, including Tom and Sally Ducker – pictured below – who said:
The tenancy training was a great couple of days looking into all aspects of applying for a tenancy.
We heard from many different speakers, farmers who had already navigated the application process, land agents, accountants and banks.
This gave us the understanding and confidence to move forward with any future applications and we also made useful contacts for all aspects of our business.
This training is an absolute must for anyone considering a farm tenancy to ensure that they can put in the best application possible.
